I couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a wedding photography website in South Africa about being chosen as their “photographer of the month”. For those of you that don’t know, my wife and I lived in Johannesburg and that is where I started my photography career.

WPJA 9th Place Photo

Every quarter the Wedding PhotoJournalism Association (WPJA) holds a photo contest for it’s members. Last quarter I submitted a handful of photos to several categories. A few weeks ago I received an email that the contest winners were announced but since I never heard anything about my photos I assumed none made the cut. On Saturday morning I finally got around to looking at the winning images and was very surprised to see one of my photos took 9th place in the humor category…yippee!!! Here is the online LINK

Newest member of the WPJA!

I wanted to update everybody on my new membership with the Wedding Photojournalist Associtaion (WPJA). A few weeks ago I applied for the membership, of which is very competitive, and received notice a week ago that I had been accepted. As a result, I am retroactively raising my rates to reflect my new accreditation…everybody will receive their bill in the mail! O.k., so I’m kidding. Anyway, it is really an honor and I invite everybody to go check out their website, unless you haven’t yet booked with me , to see some of the other great wedding photojournalists in our area. I will also be submitting photos from 2008 weddings into competitions with the WPJA and of course I will update my blog with the results. Have a great weekend & stay warm!
